With the appearance of the new 5G technology, there’s been a lot of skepticism about it online. Some people connected the new 5G towers with the coronavirus pandemic and we’ve even witnessed some of the towers being taken down.

This, of course, doesn’t have a scientific backup and in no way are coronavirus pandemic and 5G networks connected.

But first, what is 5G, exactly?

5G is the fifth generation of the broadband cell network and this is the best wireless technology up to date. It is based on the 4G networks, but it now offers better speed, efficiency, and connectivity. In fact, if you want to learn everything about it, check out ZTE 5G. So with all this in mind, why are people upset about 5G? And they had no problems with the previous generations of networks, correct?

The answer is misinformation. Some people are not familiar with how the technology works and they would rather believe something to fit in their own narrative than check and accept the facts. With that being said, let’s now look into some crazy misconceptions about 5G towers.

1. 5G and radio waves are causing cancer

This is one of the common misconceptions people have about (almost any kind of) waves. And the new 5G technology is no exception. Of course, being exposed to X-rays, gamma rays and ultraviolet rays for longer periods of time can be damaging for your skin and over time cause cancer. But none of these rays are used by the 5G technology.

Instead, non-ionizing radiation is implemented and you can sleep under the 5G tower every night without any harm at all.

2. A political war between China and the West

One of the major conspiracies is that China is using 5G network and towers to spy on others. However, this is simply not true. In fact, this is just China and the US fighting for who can secure further reach regarding the new 5G technology. There’s nothing else to it. Just a competition and both sides are fighting to win.

3. Coronavirus Drama

We’ve already mentioned it in the introduction, but there’s a connection (somehow) between the coronavirus pandemic and 5G towers. According to WHO, this is one of the most popular theories about the induction of coronavirus and it is scary to think so.

The question of whether coronavirus originated from the lab in Wuhan, or some poor guy ate a bat is still outgoing even though WHO sent out a party to investigate and it concluded that the virus is natural. Yet, some people refuse to believe so and they add 5G networks to the occasion as the way to transmit the virus around.

4. 5G will overrule!

The world in which we will live will be dominated by a 5G network and towers all across the globe. Truthfully, 5G is only one of the technologies that are actively used and it will be used in the future, but parallel to other technologies as well. Some of these are:

  • Wi-Fi
  • Fiber optics
  • Satellite services

As you can see, the new generation is set to replace the current 4G tech, but it will not push the others aside. Furthermore, there’s something else to keep in mind. It is highly likely that we will not see 5G in some remote areas where satellites provide broadband. As for the urban areas, fiber-optic networks are becoming quite popular and they are proving to be quite powerful and reliable, which is something that cannot be guaranteed for 5G (not that they are bad though, just a bit inferior is these segments).

5. 5G Towers Kill Birds

Source: bloomberg.com

There were some mysterious bird deaths in the Netherlands and it’s been connected to the testing of the 5G networks. Immediately, the internet was flooded by articles on how 5G towers actually killed these birds. However, that’s not the truth.

Today, we still cannot tell why the bird died. However, no 5G tests were run at the time of their sudden and unexpected death. If the 5G towers were inactive at the time and no testing was performed, how come it has killed those birds? This simply makes no sense, although if you were to choose a conspiracy theory regarding the 5G networks, let it be this one.

6. 5G controls the weather

We aren’t as powerful as we think – 5G networks are not used for weather control. They are communication antennas.

But, wouldn’t it be great if 5G networks controlled the weather. How cool would that be, though? We could set it up to have sunny days whenever it is necessary and rainy days for the land and crops. We would be able to chase away snowy clouds if it isn’t time for snow. We could set it up so that the crops flourish and we’d produced top-quality foods all year long because we could have the desired weather at any location where these stations are.

A similar faith happened to HAARP, which is the High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program and its antennas could be found worldwide. However, this turned out to be false, and the same thing is for the 5G Towers.

7. 5G for Mind Control

Source: sciencenews.org

Last but not least, there is a far-fetched theory that 5G networks are used for mind control and changing people’s moods. This theory is on the very end of the spectrum, but yet some people believe in it. How you can test this? Simply do what you want or go somewhere where there are no 5G towers around and you will notice no difference at all in how you think.

Conclusion

As you can see, there is a large number of misconceptions around the 5G technology and the towers which are being installed. The problem with this is that people don’t have the right information and they are destroying these towers, which makes it hard for the workers who install them.
